Returns & Refunds

All of our slate products are individually made to order. Because of their custom-made nature, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for changes of mind, unwanted items, or customer-approved personalization errors, except where required by applicable law.

Special-Order Materials: If materials have already been purchased specifically for your order, nonrecoverable material and related supplier costs may be deducted from an approved refund.
After Work Begins: Once design work or production has started, customer-requested cancellations or refunds due to a change of mind are not accepted.

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

We take great care in crafting, inspecting, and packaging every order. If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly.

Please include:

Your name and order number.
A description of the issue.
Clear photographs of the item and packaging, when available.

We will review the issue and work toward an appropriate resolution, which may include repair, replacement, or refund, as required by applicable law.

Natural Slate Variations

Our slate products are made from genuine natural stone. Variations in color, surface texture, thickness, edge shape, and natural markings are expected characteristics of slate and are not considered defects by themselves.

Because laser engraving interacts with the natural stone surface, slight differences in engraving contrast and appearance may occur between individual pieces.

Every item is carefully inspected to ensure it meets our quality standards before shipping.

Orders We Cannot Fulfill

If we are unable to complete your order due to material availability or other circumstances, you will receive a full refund for the unfulfilled order.

Natural Stone & Made to Order

Every slate product from TMO Laser Woodworks And Engraving is individually engraved and finished in our Massachusetts workshop.

Slate is a natural stone, and variations in color, texture, thickness, surface markings, and edges are normal. These natural characteristics make each piece unique.

Engraving & Appearance

Laser engraving results may vary slightly depending on the natural composition and texture of the slate. Photographic engravings, fine details, and lettering may appear different from digital previews or photographs.

Actual colors and engraving contrast may also vary due to lighting and screen settings.

Personalization & Artwork

Select slate products can be personalized with names, dates, photographs, special messages, or custom artwork.

Please carefully review all submitted names, dates, spelling, and other personalization details before placing your order. Image quality and resolution can affect the final appearance of photographic engravings.

Display, Handling & Care

Slate is durable but can chip, crack, or break if dropped or subjected to impact. Handle carefully, particularly around natural edges.

Display methods, included accessories, and care requirements vary by product. Please refer to the individual product description for specific instructions.

Production & Delivery

All slate products are made to order. Once production begins, manufacturing typically takes 3–4 business days. We’ll notify you as soon as your item enters production. The time before production begins may vary depending on our current order volume, and more complex custom orders may require additional manufacturing time.

Estimated shipping and delivery times do not include production wait time or manufacturing time. Please allow additional time for shipping transit or arrange local pickup once your order is ready.

Our Quality Commitment

Every slate product is carefully inspected before leaving our workshop. We take pride in our craftsmanship and want you to be happy with your purchase.
